A life sciences company's speaker bureau is an important representative of its brand and key messaging. These key opinion leaders (KOLs) must be able to accurately and confidently communicate new treatment options, products and clinical trial data to their peers. A well-informed and enthusiastic speaker can be a big asset, but one who is misinformed can be a threat to the reputation of a brand—or even pose a compliance risk.
Array can help you deliver more effective speaker education and training. Make it easy for speakers to engage with presenters and content during the meeting and they’ll provide you with the type of insights only KOLs can, helping you improve your messaging and mitigate risks. In turn, they will become compliant brand ambassadors who help advance your disease treatment for the benefit of patients.
Here are just three of the ways you can elevate your speaker engagement to mitigate risks and maximize learning outcomes.
1. Digital Q&A. Enable participants to ask questions digitally. Not only does this give everyone equal opportunity to be heard, but it affords the moderator the ability to prevent an off-label question from being asked aloud. It’s easy to gain added engagement this way. Our research shows that participants who receive an answer to their first question are 24% more likely to submit another.
Since Array gathers individualized data with each interaction, you can later review which participants asked questions, and exactly what they asked. This informs you as to who is working to learn more about your content and who you may need to follow up with to provide additional information or clear up misconceptions. Adding demographic context to this data, you can see how different healthcare providers or stakeholders understood the information and what concerns were tied to position or experience. Use this information to tailor your content to mitigate the risk of alienating or confusing a portion of your target audience.
2. Scenario-based polling. Incorporate scenarios/cases in your training to provide real-world examples of appropriate and compliant uses of the treatment. Include a poll after discussing each scenario to evaluate their knowledge in specific areas of compliance, including critical topics related to off-label use.
3. Pre- and post-testing. Prior to or at the start of the meeting, conduct a poll to assess your participants’ initial understanding of the disease state and their preferred treatments. Then, introduce another poll at the end of the meeting (or after different presentations throughout), to determine how much their knowledge and inclinations may have shifted during the training. If there is a key piece of content that isn’t resonating with the group, this data can be used to develop subsequent training sessions.
These engagement features are simple to deploy and will make your meeting more interesting and meaningful for your speakers. Engaged speakers are not only more knowledgeable brand ambassadors, but will provide you with the insights you need to avoid risk and create optimal messaging before launch.
